Chandelier Makeover

Remember the Imagine the Impossibilities Challenge I took on?  Well my challenge was my chandelier, you see sometime ago my chandelier looked like this...

BEFORE

and then I was bold enough to paint it and then got stuck...

IN PROGRESS

While I seldom have a problem painting walls the thought of making over my chandelier was scary.  Possibly because I knew if I screwed it up I would have to dig in my pockets to buy another one.  Let's face it, if you don't like the color you paint your wall you simply paint over it, but with a chandelier, well you gotta kinda live with it or buy another one.

I surfed the web trying to decide on what I wanted.  My dining room is small - just large enough for the table - so I knew it had to be something simple, but with some elegance and possibly some bling.

First I figured I should clean these - who knew they could get so dirty?

Big, big difference

And then after surfing the web I saw this...I knew right away this was what I wanted!

Isn't it a beauty?  I don't do welding so mine looks nothing like this...but I knew I wanted bling.

I mentioned in my previous post I found some old trim.

so I decided to combine it with some additional trim I had been holding on to...

Are you ready?

The first step was adding bling ...

Lots and lots of bling!

then simplicity to cover the chain...

and that made for lots of elegance...

Total cost of makeover:  material ($25 - $30); labor (priceless)

I can finally exhale, it might not be the best of the "bestest" but I stood up to the challenge...now if I can only face all of those other "impossibilities" in my home... :-)

That looks like a whole new fixture. Just losing the globes brought it out of Mayberry!

Way to go! It is very pretty and so much better than where it came from! Finding ways to make over what we already have is so rewarding! I always love it when I can do that.
Have a fantastic day Sherry!

What awesome can-do power! Your vision was great.
Very cool project. You've given me some inspiration on some fixtures I have that could use some transforming.

I came by after you left me a very sweet note on my living room redo post. You left a note saying you were our latest follower, and I didn't see you added on Google followers. I'm guessing you meant you are following us as an email subscriber? Anyway, Reba and I are following you now on Google. Looking forward to more of your posts. :D
