My Wash Tub

Before I start I would like to mention a special blogger, Rosa Villabarnes, if you love vintage you would love her work.  I fell in love with her plastered roses .  She gave a special tutorial for it and I've tried it once or twice.  Mine weren't as fantastic as hers, but there is hope (smile).  She's now hosting a special give away.  Here it is

MY WASHTUB

I was so happy to be able to get my Christmas Tree down and get my house back to normal.  With the help of my son we managed to get everything tidied up but I had fell in love with my old beat up washtub and wanted to hang on to it...

Some time back I had this blank wall in my living room that I wasn't sure what to do with...

Please don't focus on the border's, I'm in the process of taking them down :-)

I came across a picture of a Weeping Willow Tree that I really liked, found a stencil, and plastered it on the wall.  It took forever to paint each of those tiny leaves but overall I thought it turned out well, however, that space still looked like it was missing something.

As I was moving my wash tub I haphazardly sat it under the tree and then realized how comfortable it looked under there.  So I took a basket of silk flowers, sat them inside the tub.  Perfect!

Who would have thought something so old & ugly could be so beautiful.

I decided to keep the flowers in the basket' it'll be easier to remove them each Christmas when using the tub for Christmas gifts.  I know it sounds like lots of work....but what can I say.
